For many individuals, the face is their most valued feature. Unfortunately, the natural aging process, combined with other factors such as sun exposure and gravity, can leave them looking older than they really are.
Facelift surgery is performed on an outpatient basis at our joint commission accredited and state licensed facility to ensure a safe and effective surgery. Incisions are carefully made around the ear, and sagging skin and excess fat deposits are removed. Once the cheek/midface is repositioned to its original position, the tissues are tightened, and the remaining skin is redraped. The incisions are then closed with dissolvable sutures.
Most patients are back to their normal lifestyle within 2 weeks, although complete recovery may take up to a month. Swelling, bruising, and some discomfort are part of the recovery process and can usually be alleviated with medication and cold compresses. Strenuous exercise and activity should be avoided for at least one month to ensure patients make a full recovery.
