The Importance Of Maintaining A Healthy Weight During The Holiday Season

Once upon a time, the holidays were just that – one day in November, a few days in December (depending on what holidays you observe) and January. That would be New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Yes, there was typically a little overeating the day after Thanksgiving with all the yummy leftovers, But, then, the overindulgence was over until the next holiday. So keeping tabs on the waistline wasn’t such a big job back then.  We all know those days are long gone!

Now the holidays seem to start with Halloween and the celebrating goes right through to January 2nd.  Today, if you don’t stay conscientious, your weight can fluctuate wildly and unhealthfully. Corporate as well as personal holiday parties are now beginning before Thanksgiving and run right through the New Year. In fact, I’ve been invited to holiday parties held after the New Year by people who just couldn’t fit a party in during the traditional season! Yikes!

Maintaining a healthy weight is important for so many reasons and especially if you have a cosmetic procedure scheduled for early in the New Year.

You want to be in the best possible health and fitness prior to any procedure. Too much holiday cheer can make you bloated all over your body from head to toe. Recovery rates are much better when you are in the best condition

When you commit to having any procedure you want to be assured of the best possible outcome. Your responsibility to that end is to maintain your weight and health so that you achieve the results you want. If you can achieve that, then you’ll really have something to celebrate.

Wishing you and yours a happy, healthy holiday!
