Holiday Cosmetic Procedures are All the Rage… Start Planning Now!

Why start thinking about holiday cosmetic procedures now?

It may seem like the holidays are a long way off, but believe me, they’ll be here before you know it. And the best plastic surgeons’ schedules will soon fill up for those preferred holiday cosmetic procedure time slots. If you are considering having cosmetic procedures done during the holiday downtime, this is the perfect time to begin your research.

First and most importantly on your list of things to do is to find the surgeon you want to perform your holiday cosmetic procedure(s).

I always advise patients to only interview Board-Certified Plastic Surgeons for any procedure. And, to be more specific, you’ll want your Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to be experienced in the procedures you desire. Personal recommendations are a great place to start, but don’t restrict yourself to one interview. You won’t have any point of comparison and you may find a surgeon who is more perceptive to your needs and desires and who is more compatible with your personality.

The doctor-patient relationship is one of the most complex and intimate in the world. This is even more true with a cosmetic surgeon. Remember that you are entrusting the appearance of your face or body to a doctor. You will be entering into a partnership/relationship based on honesty and mutual respect. This is no time to hold back information even though you may think it irrelevant. Depending on your current state of health and/or your age, your surgeon may require certain things of you that may take time in preparation for your procedures.

The more time you give yourself to find a surgeon and to develop a trusting relationship with him or her, the more comfortable you will both be when it is time for your chosen holiday cosmetic procedure.

And this is one thing you simply don’t want to rush.
